Abseiling Proficiency Course Level One

Giving you the confidence to get started

Abseiling Proficiency Course Level 1 in Singapore is a certification course for persons with no prior knowledge on abseiling. The objective of this course is to give participants the basic skills to descend on ropes and have essential knowledge on the equipment required to abseil.

Participants will be introduced to the various equipment being used, how to rig-in to the abseil system, perform a controlled descend and usage of various abseiling commands.

SNAS Level 1 is certified under Singapore Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Federation.

What will you learn?

  • Know about the abseiling equipment being used.

  • Rig-in and perform a controlled descend

  • Self rescue techiques

Requirements

  • At least 13 years of age.
  • NO Abseiling experience required.

Duration

  • 7 hours (inclusive lunch break)
  • 9.00am till 4.00pm

Descend Practice

  • Rig-in and remove from abseil system

  • Descend with a fireman’s belay

  • Self rescue – apply lock-on system with leg wrap

Safety Considerations

  • Rope placement on descender (smiley face)

  • Importance on controlled descend

  • Appropriate attire
